Dietary Supplement, Microencapsulated Iron & Lactoferrin Formula LACTOFER Iron Formula is a dietary supplement containing iron, lactoferrin, copper and vitamins C, B9 (folic acid) and B12. It contributes to the normal formation of red blood cells, hemoglobin and normal hematopoiesis. It also contributes to the normal transport of iron in the body as well as to the transport of oxygen, as well as to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue. Iron absorption is facilitated by the presence of lactoferrin, while vitamin C increases iron absorption. The iron present in LACTOFER Iron Formula, thanks to the micro2 technology [microencapsulated & micronized mineral salts] by Dr. Paul Lohmann®, ensures a smaller particle size (d90: approximately 300 μM), improved functionality and bioavailability. Through a uniquely developed coating process, the mineral salts are covered with a layer of vegetable fat. Thanks to this incorporation technology, the mineral salts retain their natural characteristics and offer significant advantages, making the highly active ferrous sulfate bioavailable. This eliminates unpleasant iron side effects, such as a strong metallic taste, while improving flow, dosage control and stomach tolerance due to the controlled release of the metal into the digestive system. The binding of free iron ions is crucial for the protection of cellular components from uncontrolled oxidations LACTOFERRIN (LF) is a multifunctional protein of the transferrin family Component of the immune system Involved in iron transport Regulates iron absorption Controls free iron levels In healthy individuals, almost all iron released into the plasma is bound to transferrin, limiting the production of iron-catalyzed free radicals and facilitating transport to target cells. Iron can be stored intracellularly as ferritin, a globular heteropolymer capable of storing more than 4,000 iron atoms. However, the role of iron is dual, on the one hand it keeps us alive and on the other hand it can cause harmful effects. For this reason, organisms have developed complex mechanisms to ensure constant control of its levels. The binding of free iron ions is crucial for the protection of cellular components from uncontrolled oxidation. There are several substances that play this role. Another protein, similar to transferrin, is lactoferrin, which is present in LACTOFER Iron Formula, and is found in milk and certain other physiological fluids. It is also released by phagocytes after their stimulation, probably to neutralize the diffusion of the harmful effect of reactive oxygen species to nearby healthy tissue parts. Like transferrin, it has the ability to bind two Fe3+ atoms per protein molecule. Lactoferrin plays a key role in a number of first-line defense mechanisms and contributes to a variety of physiological responses at both the cellular and organ levels. Lactoferrin plays a key role in immune homeostasis and functions to reduce oxidative stress at the molecular level, thereby controlling excessive inflammatory responses. E.O.F.
